Yiming Luo

I am a researcher in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Embodied Intelligence, Affective Computing, and Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR).

About

Yiming Luo 罗亦鸣

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Hangzhou Institute of Xidian University, and will be completing my postdoctoral tenure soon. I received my B.Eng degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Liverpool (2018), and my M.Sc degree in Systems Control & Signal Processing from the University of Southampton. I completed my Ph.D under the supervision of Prof. Hai-Ning Liang at the School of Advanced Technology, University of Liverpool. During my postdoctoral research, I have published over 20 peer-reviewed papers, including more than 10 as first or corresponding author in premier venues such as ACM CHI, CSCW, SIGGRAPH Asia, IEEE Transactions on Haptics, and Expert Systems with Applications, with topics spanning intelligent interaction design, multimodal sensing, and robot teleoperation. My research interests include Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Embodied Intelligence, Affective Computing, and Virtual/Augmented Reality (VR/AR). I am particularly passionate about understanding how humans perceive, communicate, and collaborate with intelligent systems in complex real-world environments. My overarching goal is to design humanized, user-centered interfaces that make interactions more natural, adaptive, and emotionally aware — ultimately closing the gap between human intention and machine response. Here is my CV and Google Scholar link.
